Prenatal Yoga Teacher Training

Yoga during pregnancy provides great support for a woman. Yoga during pregnancy helps her go through many changes in her body and in her emotional state. The hormonal background changes a lot, and this affects her body and mood. Yoga during pregnancy is very important to go through this period of life harmoniously. Proper yoga practice improves well-being and also helps prepare for childbirth. It is important to understand what changes will occur after childbirth, and to build prenatal yoga in such a way as to support a woman in the so-called fourth trimester.

The Prenatal Yoga is designed for yoga teachers who want to specialize in prenatal yoga and those who want to understand how to tailor a yoga practice for a pregnant woman. We consider changes at the physical level and how with the help of asanas we can improve the changing posture. The course also examines changes in the digestive system, in the cardiovascular reproductive and urinary systems. How yoga can facilitate the passage of these changes. Much attention is paid to the influence of hormones on a woman's body. It is extremely important to separate experienced practitioners and beginners - in the prenatal yoga course we make sequences for both. We also discuss high-risk pregnancies and relationships with health-care providers. Adjustment of asanas is especially important for a pregnant woman, and much attention is paid to it along with the use of props. Our school draws on various traditional and Modern Yoga Schools, such as Iyengar yoga, with a long history of teaching yoga to pregnant women.

If you’re looking to deepen your own practice or interested in looking for other modalities to teach your clients, you’ll still receive a certificate stating your completion of the 85 hours.

YES! Upon completion of the 85 hours, you’ll receive a certification stating you’ve completed the course under my guidance and that of the reputable and registered school of Mira Yogashala. With the certificate, you’ll be eligible to receive liability insurance. Until you complete a 200 hour RYT course you will not be registered with Yoga Alliance.

YES! Once you’ve received your 200 hour certificate, you can upload both of the certificates. Once you’ve done so you’ll hold a 200 RYT (Registered Yoga Teacher) and RPYT (Registered Prenatal Yoga Teacher) designation.

YES! The modules remain the same throughout all the trainings. If you cannot make first session, you can make-up the module at another time or in another city. It’s recommended that you always complete Module #1 before the other two as the focus on Pregnancy and Anatomy is covered during the first session.

Please check the Course Description for more information about each specific module!

We support and recognize the need to fulfill other obligations and training programs and we’re more than willing to work towards a flexible payment program based on one’s financial needs and situation.

A deposit is required before the training commences. Inquire at for a more personal payment plan.

The program is divided into 70 hours of hand on training with Program Director. The other 15 hours to complete the 85 hour total is made of practicum classes and observation. Trainees must attend prenatal or postnatal classes for observation. Please contact for classes offered in your area.

These classes can be completed at any time, before or after the training commences. Once completed and the worksheets handed in, the trainee will receive the final seal for the certificate!

As one of the previous trainees called it, “the golden seal of love”.

These trainings have a maximum acceptance of 15 trainees and usually fill quickly. To secure and guarantee your spot, all you need to do is pay the deposit of $200. The remaining amount will be due upon commencement of the course.

You can request a registration form at

If the program has been cancelled due to low enrolment and/or cancellation on Mira Yogashala’s behalf, than a full tuition reimbursement will be returned. This process may take a few business days upon confirmation.

If a trainee who paid the deposit can no longer attend the course, the deposit will be held and put towards the program in the future. The deposit is non-refundable. If the trainee paid for the course in full, the remainder amount (total – deposit) will be returned.

If you are thinking about Pre-natal Yoga classes, here are some things to think about. These gentle classes are designed to support the anatomical changes and to find comfort in the physical changes that pregnancy bestows on new mothers. Yoga asana or poses that focus on hip opening stretches, stamina strengthening standing poses to help prepare for labour and delivery, shoulder opening stretches to help prepare for motherhood mixed with gentle and guided breathing techniques (pranayama) and meditation is the key focus in pre-natal yoga.

Refunds for both the 85 hr course and online course are only offered should the course be cancelled by Mira Yogashala. Refunds and the non-fundable deposits are not returned if the trainee discontinuous with the program.

Mira Yogashala does not assume the liability for you and your teachings. You must do your diligence as a teacher to ensure your students and mama’s are practicing yoga safely by offering modifications as well as understanding each student’s medical history. Please ensure mothers are ‘safe’ to practice and that they’ve had the clearance to resume their activity in both pregnancy and postpartum recommended by their health care provider, midwife, physician or OBGYN.

If you are called to support women in your community and this training program feels ‘right’, please don’t hesitate to contact us directly with any specific questions or concerns at We believe strongly in mentorship and continuous support so no matter which program you choose, We are here for YOU!
